BISHOP KOMARICA CELEBRATED HIS GOLDEN JUBILEE

In the monastery and parish church of St. Anthony of Padua at Petrićevac on June 23rd, the Bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica celebrated 50 years of priesthood.

The celebrant led the Eucharist with the concelebration of the auxiliary bishop, Msgr. Marko Semren, the Polish bishop of Legnica, Msgr. Andrzej Siemieniewski and a dozen priests, among whom was the guardian OFM Domagoj Šimić.

In his homily, which he divided into two parts, Msgr. Komarica first reflected on the fact that, according to the Second Vatican Council, a priest is “dedicated to proclaim the Gospel, to sanctify the faithful, to offer the sacrifice of the New Covenant”. In the second part, he thanked the Lord for considering him worthy of trust and taking him into service.

The Eucharistic celebration was animated by Neven Kraljić, the organist of the Zagreb Cathedral, with the singing of Josipa Kraljić.

After the Holy Mass, there was a gathering in the monastery crypt, where OFM Domagoj presented the bishop with an artistic painting of the monastery and the church on Petrićevac.

Interestingly, Petrićevac donated two cardinals to the Church: Guidi Del Mestro and Vinko Puljić and bishop Dr. Komarica.
