CELEBRATION OF THE PATRON SAINT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE NEW CHURCH UNDER CONSTRUCTION

The celebration of the patron saint of the Drvar parish this year was marked by a rich spiritual program from March 16th to 21st.

As part of this, there was a spiritual renewal and the celebration of the heavenly patron St. Joseph, which was held for the first time in the new pastoral centre with a worship space that is still under construction, but under a roof. Holy Mass, as well as Holy Mass celebrations during the spiritual renewal was led by the parish priest of the Zagreb parish of St. Stephen in Botinac, rev. Matej Petrić. Concelebrating with him was the parish priest of Drvar, rev. Davor Klečina, and the deacon at the pastoral practice in Drvar, rev. Pero Vladić, served at the altar. Young people from the community Nanovo rođeni, ministered and sang at the Holy Mass. The spiritual program included the catechesis of rev. Petrić and the testimony of the married couple Željko and Stana Pehar from Botinac.

Also, on March 17th and 18th, the faithful had the honour of hosting a lay missionary and evangelist from Colombia, Marin Restrep, who was on a week-long spiritual tour of Bosnia. After Sunday’s Holy Mass, Matthias Ricov of the community Nanovo rođeni gave a speech on the royal honour that all Christians receive through the sacrament of baptism.

In the afternoon, a tour of the Una waterfalls in Martin Brod and the Orthodox monastery Rmanj was organized, and then everyone visited the cemetery in the destroyed parish of Krnjeuša where they prayed at the memorial cross.
