HOLY MASS FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE PATRON OF SISTERS ADORERS OF THE BLOOD OF CHRIST

On Monday, July 1st, sisters Adorers of the Blood of Christ, celebrated their patron, on which occasion there was a solemn Mass celebration led by cardinal Vinko Puljić.

The holy Mass celebration, in the monastery chapel of Blood of Christ, was led by Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić in concelebration with Msgr. Franjo Komarica, the bishop of Banja Luka and venerable Mirko Šimić, the director of Caritas of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese.

At the beginning of the Holy Mass, cardinal Puljić greeted all those present, and also congratulated the patron to the sisters.

He gave a few inspirational thoughts during the sermon, emphasizing the importance of blood in the human understanding of the blood relation, and the divine understanding of the covenant. “Blood is not just a symbol; it is the reality that always points us to the sacrifice of Christ that he has redeemed us. By today’s glorification of the Precious Blood of Christ, we need to overcome the human dimension and enter into the value that Jesus has given us through his blood-redeemed man. With this value, we will communicate more easily with people”, the Archbishop of Vrhbosna said.

The Society of the Sisters of the Adorers of Blood of Christ was founded in 1834. By St. Mary De Mattias, with the charisma of going to the farthest souls that needed the living Word and effective love. They go to all people, living a simple and hospitable lifestyle, walking in the ways of reconciliation and solidarity.

The community of sisters, which today operates in Sarajevo, was founded in 1971. The sisters act Apostolic with their life and work in the hospital, in the offices of the Bishop’s Conference of BiH and the Conference of High Religious Leaders of BiH. Their mission is to visit old and sick people.
