The liturgical celebration of the Pentecost was held on May 22nd in the Church of the Assumption of Mary in the Banja Luka parish of Marija Zvijezda.
It was led by the Bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica, and was concelebrated by the parish priest OFM Zvonko Topić and the guardian of Petrićevac, OFM Domagoj Šimić.
The first part of the three-hour prayer event was dedicated to Mary Mother of the Church and Mother of All Nations, the second part was the celebration of Holy Mass, and the third Eucharistic Adoration.
Bishop Franjo initially gave spiritual encouragement with regard to the role in the history of the salvation of the Virgin Mary, who is also the Mother of the Church. He then prayed before the image of the Mother of All Nations a series of selected, encouraging prayers, while the nuns and young people alternately prayed the glorious mysteries of Our Lady’s Rosary.
At the Holy Mass in the homily, the bishop spoke about Mary’s readiness to be completely obedient to God’s word and God’s will, which is at the same time an unsurpassed and lasting example for each of the faithful.
During the adoration before the exposed Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, the First Vespers of the Feast of Pentecost were sung.
An inspired reflection and prayer to the Eucharistic Jesus was said by OFM Domagoj.
In the end, there was a gathering in the yard in front of the church.
