THE DAMAGED CHURCH BELL TOWER WAS DEMOLISHED

Workers of GP Komotin from Jajce on January 27th removed three bronze bells, and then demolished a 16-meter-high wooden bell tower, built next to the temporary worship space of the Drvar parish.

The demanding operation was carried out with the help of a specialized crane 30 meters high and lasted seven hours, and all nearby traffic was suspended.

The statics of the already damaged bell tower were severely damaged in the recent earthquakes around Petrinja, which were significantly felt in Drvar, so experts estimated that it must be removed as soon as possible.

By the way, it served for almost 25 years. It was set up in 1996. and was donated by the company Finvest from Čabar. It was built next to the building of the former Sokolski dom (formerly Partizan), which was given for use to the parish in October 1995. until the church was built. On the bell tower were three bronze bells (weighing 165, 105 and 70 kg) cast in the famous Grassmayer bell factory in Innsbruck.

Let us remind you, the religious community in Drvar bought land three years ago on which it plans to build a pastoral centre, for which an urban plan was obtained last year, and these days a building permit should be ready.
