THE PATRON SAINT OF THE PARISH AND THE GOLDEN MASS OF REV. MIĆIĆ

On August 5th, the parish of Our Lady of the Snow in Poljaci near Brčko celebrated the patron saint as well as the golden mass of the local son, rev. Ivan Mićić.

The Eucharist was led by the priest celebrating the golden mass, and the Bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica. The concelebration was attended by the parish priest in Poljaci, rev. Mato Janjić, dean of the Brčko deanery and parish priest in Brčko venerable Damir Ivanović and other priests.

In his sermon, Bishop Komarica said that, despite the restrictions due to the coronavirus, it is necessary to rejoice together and thank God. He then reminded of the life of the priest that is celebrating his golden mass and his work in the parishes in BiH, Germany and Croatia.

“Our Golden Jubilee, as an ordained priest of Christ, was well aware of how dedicated he is to proclaiming the Gospel, consecrating the faithful and offering the sacrifice of the New Covenant”, said, among other things, Bishop Franjo.

Rev. Ivan in his speech, did not hide his joy and satisfaction that, despite the situation due to the pandemic, he managed to mark his golden jubilee of mission in the community of believers and priests.

The mixed choir of the parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Brčko animated the Holy Mass with liturgical singing.

The community of believers prepared for this celebration with a triduum.
