HOLY THREE DAYS MARKED WITH LITURGICAL CELEBRATIONS

In the Cathedral of Banja Luka, but also in other parish churches of the city, the Holy Three days were marked with liturgical celebrations.

On Maundy Thursday –Holy Mass of the Lord’s Supper, on Good Friday – solemn Rites, on Maundy Saturday – liturgy of the Easter Vigil, and on Easter itself with a solemn worship service. In addition, there was the devotion of the Stations of the Cross, and the blessing of Easter meals, also in the branch churches.

In the cathedral, the liturgical celebrations were led by Bishop Franjo Komarica, and auxiliary bishop Marko Semren preached on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Bishop Marko also led the devotion of the Way of the Cross, and in the central parish church the vigil liturgy with the distribution of the sacraments of initiation to one candidate.

At the vigil liturgy in the cathedral, Bishop Franjo’s Easter message was read, and on Easter he preached an appropriate sermon. God’s people also participated in all the celebrations – adequate to their number and their age. In the past few days, many have joined the sacrament of Holy Confession.

The consul general of the Republic of Croatia in Banja Luka, Prof. Zoran Piličić, and the mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković with his colleagues were also present at the solemn concelebrated Easter Holy Mass in the cathedral.

After the Holy Mass, both of them met in the building of the Ordinariate with Bishop Franjo and his associates, reports the website of the Banja Luka Diocese.
