60TH THEOLOGICAL-PASTORAL WEEK

This year’s 60th Theological-Pastoral Week (TPT) was held from January 28th to 30th at the Inter-Diocesan Seminary in Šalata, Zagreb.

The theme of the Week was inspired by the post-Synod Apostolic Exhortation of St. John Paul II. Church in Europe, and the central theme was Proclaiming the Gospel in contemporary Europe. The organizer was the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Zagreb.

The 60th TPT began with the prayer of the invocation of the Holy Spirit and the welcoming speech of the Grand Chancellor of the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Zagreb, Cardinal Josip Bozanić. The Week was opened by the greeting speech of the Dean of the KBF from Zagreb, prof. Dr. Mario Cifrak.

The introductory speeches were followed by a lecture Church in Europe by Msgr. Hrvoje Škrlec.

The lecture Reflections of European Spiritual and Religious Movements in Croatia was then delivered by Dr. Željko Tanjić; the topic Christian message in the face of the Enlightenment critique was addressed by Dr. Sc. Stjepan Radić, and presentation Is Evangelization Possible in Postmodern Culture?, was organized by Dr. Davor Šimunec.

On Wednesday, January 29th, the program was opened with a topic About the role of kerygma in Christian faith and culture, and was said by Dr. Franjo Vidović; On the renewed importance of the first kerygma for the Church and society, by dr. Drago Tukara; On the common moral and social effects of kerygma, a lecture was given by prof. Dr. Zorica Maros.

The topic Law on Sinai and the Church proclaiming in the context of the crisis of identity in Europe was delivered by Dr. Jacob Rađa, and about Family as a place of first proclamation in the new cultural circumstances spoke Dr. Matilda Stanić and Branimir Stanić.

The last lecture of the second day, I believed, therefore I have spoken, we also believe, and therefore speak’ (2 Cor 4:13). Homily: a meeting in words – a meeting in the celebrated Mystery was held by prof. Dr. Ivica Žižić.

On Thursday, January 30th, the program began with a presentation of the Liturgical Celebration: Confession of Faith and (or) Proclamation of Faith by prof. Dr. Ante Crnčević; On the topic of Kerygma in Building Authenticity, Dr. Denis Barić, and about Digital world as a new area of proclamation lecture was given by Dr. Krunoslav Novak and Dr. Ivan Uldrijan.

Then a plenary debate was held, and Dr. Cifrak, the Dean of the KBF in Zagreb, closed the 60th TPT.

TPT participants each day had Eucharist sessions with homilies at the seminary church.

Theological-pastoral week is a scientific and pastoral gathering of theologians in reflecting on current topics that touch upon the life of the Church, with the aim of continuing education and improvement of the holders of various services and missions in the Church: bishops, presbyters and deacons, monks, nuns and faithful laymen. The gathering is open to anyone else who is interested in these topics.
