THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF MSGR. KAZIMIR VIŠATICKI

18th anniversary of the martyrdom of Msgr. Kazimir Višatick, was commemorated on November 17th in the parish church of St. Roch in Gradiška with a Holy Mass led by the Bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica.

Several priests concelebrated, among whom were Kazimir’s own brothers, rev. Adolf and rev. Karlo.

The sermon was delivered by a Dominican from the neighbouring parish of Dolina, father Damir Šokić, who is the spiritual son of the late Kazimir because he accompanied him to the Đakovo seminary in 1991, and he preached at his Young mass in Gornji Bogićevci in 2000. Referring to the proclaimed Word of God, he pointed out that Msgr. Višaticki left a bright mark and added that the Holy Mass is not only a sad memory, but also a grateful celebration “for the time Kazimir was gifted to us by God”.

After the Eucharist, the prayer for the dead was prayed, and then those present went to the parish front yard and prayed the litanies of the Blood of Christ and the prayer of absolution in front of the memorial plaque.

In addition to socio-political representatives, the priest of the SPC, Father Mirko Milisavić, was also present at the Holy Mass.

Msgr. Višaticki was born in 1939 in Čatrnja near Bosanska Gradiška. He was ordained a priest in 1963. As a priest, he worked in the parishes: Stara Rijeka, Prnjavor, Dolina, Drvar and Budžak, and as a parish priest in Bosanska Gradiška he was appointed in 1999, where he was killed in 2004.
