CELEBRATED PATRON OF THE PARISH

The parish of Ravska near Prijedor on June 24th celebrated the feast of the Birth of St. John the Baptist – its heavenly protector.

The solemn Holy Mass was led by the Bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica, and concelebrating were the Dean of the Bihać Deanery and the parish priest in Prijedor, rev. Marko Vidović, director of KŠC in Bihać and parish priest in Stara Rijeka rev. Boris Ljevak and the parish priest of Ravska, rev. Zlatko Matić.

In his homily, Bishop Komarica spoke about pandemics that are destroying society and the world. He especially pointed out the spiritual pandemic that is fatally ravaging these people and makes them dissatisfied and endangers their eternal life. “The pandemic of sin destroys the heart and mind of a man who does not count on God’s help in his life and does not acknowledge him as his Creator and Savior”, said the bishop, emphasizing the bright image of St. John the Baptist as a model of realized and fulfilled “life in which Jesus is in the first place, and then everything else is in its place”.

At the end of the Holy Mass, the parish priest addressed the believers and gave gratitude gifts to Msgr. Komarica for everything he does for the parishes of Prijedor area.

Holy Mass gathered about 150 believers, followed by socialising.
