TO SHED LIGHT ON THE BIGGEST CRIME AGAINST CROATS IN BIH

On Saturday, July 25th, the Bishop of Banja Luka, Franjo Komarica, led a Holy Mass for 67 Croatian civilians killed by members of the Serb forces at the beginning of the war in 1992. in Briševo, Prijedor municipality.

In his sermon, the Banja Luka Ordinary pointed out that the crime had not been forgotten only thanks to representatives of the Church and victims’ associations, and called for the truth about the suffering of Croatian civilians to be clarified 28 years after the crime.

“It is the largest Croatian place of suffering in BiH, but, unfortunately, we feel neglected. High representatives and officials do not come to the commemoration. The killing of civilians, children and the infirm is a war crime. It is always a war crime, regardless of who the perpetrators are and who the victims are”, said the president of the association Dom Briševo – Dobri, Zdravko Marijan.

It is worth recalling that 67 Croatian civilians were killed in the attack on Briševo on July 24th and 25th by members of the Fifth Kozara Brigade and the Sixth Krajina Brigade from Sanski Most of the Republika Srpska Army.
