Caritas of the Banja Luka diocese organized a blessing ceremony on September 21st for the Kindergarten Sv. Ana in the Petrićevac settlement, which is located next to the Caritas Social Centre.
The blessing ceremony was performed by the Bishop of Banja Luka, Franjo Komarica, thanking God that such a project was realized in Banja Luka.
The building of Caritas kindergarten Sveta Ana has a gross area of 634.12 m2, a basement of an additional 50 m2 and a garden and playground of 350 m2. The capacity of the kindergarten is 85 children in three groups for children from 3 to 6 years of age, and one group for the nursery. The kindergarten is built and equipped according to environmental and EU standards, adapted to requirements of children with special needs.
In addition to the stay of children in kindergarten, the goal of this project is to connect joint activities for the elderly through Caritas Home for the Elderly and activities for children, as one of the first intergenerational projects of its kind in BiH.
